Te Kuiti supermarket damaged after mobility scooter fire

A fire caused by a mobility scooter has resulted in damage to a supermarket in Te Kuiti. Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) responded to the incident at the New World store.

FENZ reported that the blaze spread to the front of the supermarket. Firefighters arrived swiftly to manage the situation and prevent further damage. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. The incident has raised concerns about fire safety for mobility scooters and similar devices in public spaces.
